Gas Stations Along the Route (in travel order, from OpenStreetMap)
- ⛽ Gas Station
Distances between stations are approximate values calculated along the route geometry (only gas stations within 500 m of the route are counted). OpenStreetMap is edited by volunteers, so stations may be missing or closed; check business hours on site. On remote stretches, plan your fuel carefully rather than relying on this data alone.
Elevation Profile (Xinwu Road junction ⇄ Fushan; highest approx. 427 m, lowest approx. 36 m)
The horizontal axis is distance along the route; the vertical axis is elevation (the height scale is exaggerated, so slopes look steeper than they are). Dots mark cameras (tappable) and stations. Elevation is estimated from AWS terrain data; tunnel and bridge sections are interpolated between their ends, so errors of several tens of meters are possible. For planning reference only.
Map
After opening the map, use the buttons to toggle layers. Dot colors follow the estimated road surface; tap a dot to see weather and the camera. Rainfall, temperature, and wind are from the nearest station to each point; road surface moisture is an estimate. Gas stations, stores, restaurants, and attractions come from OpenStreetMap and only include places near the route; check business hours and conditions on site. For closures and traffic control, rely on the Highway Bureau live traffic information ↗. The route line runs from Xinwu Road junction to Fushan, joined from the OpenStreetMap road network (some sections follow North 107-1). Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.

This route joins two roads. Provincial Highway 9A (Xinwu Road) follows the Nanshi River upstream from the Beiyi Road junction in Xindian through Guishan and Zhongzhi to Wulai. North 107 continues south from Wulai through Xinxian, Neidong, and Xiapen to Fushan village. The page covers about 32 km, starting at km 0 of Highway 9A at the Xinwu Road junction (about 1 km from Xindian MRT Station toward Beiyi Road), not at the station itself. Distances on the North 107 section are estimates from the road alignment, so the page shows place names instead of kilometer markers.
Highway 9A continues past Wulai toward Xiaoyi and Laka (there is a Highway Bureau camera at 17K+700), but this page turns onto North 107 at Wulai and does not include that stretch.
Highlights & Attractions
Past Wulai, North 107 follows the valley to Fushan through gorges, waterfalls, and Atayal villages. Places marked “detour” are off the main road:
- Highway 9A: Guishan Power Plant ice cream shop (detour) and Wulai Old Street.
- Wulai: Wulai Waterfall (detour, with the trolley and the cable car) and Yunxian Resort (detour).
- North 107: Xinxian Trail and Neidong National Forest Recreation Area (detour; entry and closures follow Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency notices).
- Fushan: Fushan village, Butterfly Park, and the Kalamogi Trail, all around the village. Follow on-site signs and check whether trails are open.
Typical Weather
This is a river-valley setting with steep walls and heavy shade, humidity runs high, and shaded corners dry slowly after rain. Even when Xindian is dry, the mountains around Wulai can be foggy or rainy, and the northern mountains often get more rain during the northeast monsoon. Check the rain and humidity readings for each point on this page instead of relying on the weather in downtown Xindian.
No Highway Bureau or New Taipei City cameras cover North 107. For Xinxian, Neidong, and Fushan, the page estimates the road surface from nearby weather and rain stations and labels it as an estimate. Verify conditions on site. Rainfall is only a reference: this site does not judge landslides, rockfalls, or closures, so check Highway Bureau and New Taipei City announcements.
Riding Tips
On the Highway 9A section, weekend car and bus traffic is heavy, bends are continuous, and oncoming vehicles often cross the center line, so never overtake on a blind curve. North 107 is narrower with short sight lines; slow down early for tour buses and trucks and keep right. Cyclists and walkers are common, so reduce speed in every corner.
Wildlife such as macaques may be present. Do not feed them, and do not stop on bends or bridges for photos.
Sort out supplies before heading up: no gas station was found in Wulai District, so fill up in Xindian. Wulai is the last place with convenience stores and restaurants. After that, only scattered shops remain as far as Fushan, and their hours are irregular.
