Gas Stations Along the Route (in travel order, from OpenStreetMap)

    1. ⛽ CPC

Distances between stations are approximate values calculated along the route geometry (only gas stations within 500 m of the route are counted). OpenStreetMap is edited by volunteers, so stations may be missing or closed; check business hours on site. On remote stretches, plan your fuel carefully rather than relying on this data alone.

Elevation Profile (Xizhi ⇄ Wuzhishan; highest approx. 614 m, lowest approx. 16 m)

    Highest 614 m
    Xizhi 18 mWuzhishan 614 m

The horizontal axis is distance along the route; the vertical axis is elevation (the height scale is exaggerated, so slopes look steeper than they are). Dots mark cameras (tappable) and stations. Elevation is estimated from AWS terrain data; tunnel and bridge sections are interpolated between their ends, so errors of several tens of meters are possible. For planning reference only.

    Map

After opening the map, use the buttons to toggle layers. Dot colors follow the estimated road surface; tap a dot to see weather and the camera. Rainfall, temperature, and wind are from the nearest station to each point; road surface moisture is an estimate. Gas stations, stores, restaurants, and attractions come from OpenStreetMap and only include places near the route; check business hours and conditions on site. For closures and traffic control, rely on the Highway Bureau live traffic information ↗. The route line runs from Xizhi to Wuzhishan, joined from the OpenStreetMap road network. Xiwan Road (North 29) climbs north from downtown Xizhi through Xiushan, Kezilin, and Xinshan to Wuzhishan, a route of roughly 14 km. It has concentrated climbs and curves and is popular for short mountain rides and evening rides near eastern Taipei. Continuing from Wuzhishan toward Fengguizui uses another road and is not included in this page’s distance or weather data.

There are no public Highway Bureau or New Taipei City cameras along Xiwan Road, so the page relies on weather readings from Xizhi, Xiushan, Kezilin, Xinshan, and Wuzhishan. Verify actual conditions on site.

    Highlights & Attractions

Gongbei Temple and views of the Taipei Basin and Keelung hills from Wuzhishan, including night views. Stop only at designated public parking places, not cemeteries, private property, or restricted areas. For extensions toward Fengguizui, Wanli, or the North Coast, plan connecting roads and the return route in advance.

    Typical Weather

Wuzhishan is cooler and wetter than downtown Xizhi. Northeast monsoons often bring fog and drizzle, even when the lowlands are sunny. Shaded turns dry slowly after rain; leaves, sand, and moss can be hazards. Reduced visibility may matter more than temperature. Isolated afternoon showers can occur in summer.

    Riding Tips

The road is narrow with closely spaced blind curves. Keep your speed down, especially at night or in fog, and watch for oncoming vehicles cutting corners. Cyclists and local traffic are common on weekends. Avoid stopping near hairpin exits or narrow shoulders. Allow extra braking distance downhill, and fuel up before leaving Xizhi.
